How to Sync Your Finalsite Schedule to Gipper

Connect Finalsite to Gipper with an iCal link, and your games and events flow into AutoCreate automatically, always up to date, with nothing to re-type.

How It Works

If your school or district website runs on Finalsite, you never have to type an event into Gipper again, and you don't need website admin access to set it up. Finalsite can hand you an iCal link, which is a live feed of your schedule. You paste that link into Gipper once, and from then on every game and event syncs into AutoCreate on its own, ready for your graphics and updated whenever your schedule changes. Setup takes just a few minutes.

 

Your athletics calendar can generate an iCal feed right from the public calendar page:

  1. Go to your school or athletic website and open the Calendar page.
  2. Click the subscribe icon in the top-right corner above the calendar.
  3. In the dialog, choose to subscribe to all public calendars, or select specific ones (like Athletics).
  4. Hover over the green iCal button and choose Get Standard iCal URL.
  5. Copy the URL from the field that appears at the top of the window.

 

Gipper Tip!

  • Finalsite sites are customized per school and run on different software versions, so your calendar page may look a little different from your neighbor's. If you can't find the subscribe icon, your website administrator can point you to it.
  • Select just your Athletics calendar(s) in the dialog instead of all public calendars. That keeps non-athletic events out of your Gipper feed.

 

  1. In Gipper, click AutoCreate in the left sidebar, then open the Calendars tab.
  2. Click Add iCal under Personal (visible just to you) or Workspace (visible to everyone in your Workspace; Admins only).
  3. Name your calendar (for example, "School Calendar"), paste your Finalsite link, and click Continue.
  4. Preview your events, then click Add events.

Gipper Tip!

  • Your iCal link is a live feed, so schedule changes in Finalsite sync to Gipper automatically. You can also click Refresh calendar in Gipper anytime for an instant update.
