The Gipper Display Web Player allows you to display Gipper content on ChromeOS devices using Google ChromeOS digital signage.
If your school already uses ChromeOS to power digital signage, you can connect your existing screens to Gipper without replacing your hardware. Have your IT department use Google Admin Console to install the Gipper Display Web Player onto your ChromeOS device, then you can pair it with your Gipper account to start managing content directly from Gipper.
Add Gipper Display to your ChromeOS devices
This is generally done by a school's IT department with administrative access to Google.
- Login to the Google Admin Console
- Click on Devices > Chrome > Apps & Extensions then navigate to the Kiosks tab
- Click on the + button and choose Add by URL
- Enter the Gipper Display Web Player URL ("https://d.gipper.com") and click Save
- You should now see an option Auto-launch app above the Gipper Display app. Directly to the right of this is a drop-down. Click on this and select Gipper. This will set the Gipper app to autostart.
- Now that you’re done, click Save in the top right corner of the window
Pair your screen with Gipper
- Once the ChromeOS changes are made, your screen will display a pairing code
- In Gipper, navigate to Displays → Screens → Add Screen, then select the Web Browser option.
- Enter the pairing code shown on your screen, give the screen a name, and click Add Screen.
- Your screen is now connected to Gipper. You can create Display Content (slideshows) and assign them to the screen from within Gipper.
