Hotkeys or shortcut keys on Gipper are a list of handy keyboard shortcuts that, when pressed, perform a task (such as rotating a picture) more quickly than by using a mouse or any other input device. This article is a quick walkthrough of all the hotkeys Gipper supports. This is a fairly quick read and we've thrown in some videos along the way.
This Tutorial will cover the following hotkeys:
- Use arrow keys to move image/text boxes
- Hold shift & resize any shape element from the top and bottom midpoint anchors
- Hold shift & resize any shape element from the left and right midpoint anchors
- Hold shift & rotate any element
- Hold shift & select multiple elements
- Hold alt (Windows) or option (Mac) and resize any element from the center
- Hold alt (Windows) or option (Mac) & rotate any element
- Hold alt (Windows) or option (Mac)+shift & rotate any element
- Hold shift & resize any shape or media element from a 90º corner
Use arrow keys to move image/text boxes:
You can now move text/photo elements using the arrow keys on your keyboard! Once you have click on the element you want moved you then can use the arrow keys to adjust as needed!
Hold shift & resize any shape element from the top and bottom midpoint anchors
Holding shift while simultaneously clicking either the top or bottom midpoint anchors would allow you to skew the element along the x-axis that is horizontally.
Hold shift & resize any shape element from the left and right midpoint anchors
Holding shift while simultaneously clicking either the left or right midpoint anchors would allow you to skew the element along the y-axis that is vertically.
Hold shift & rotate any element
If you hold shift while rotating any element such as a photo or a textbox, the degree of rotation will increment by 45 degrees.
Hold shift & select multiple elements
Holding shift and selecting multiple elements on the canvas would allow you to group these elements and move them to a desired location on the canvas.
Hold alt (Windows) or option (Mac) and resize any element from the center
Holding alt on Windows or option on Mac and resizing any element would resize it from the centre as opposed to the corner.
Hold alt (Windows) or option (Mac) & rotate any element
Holding alt on Windows or option on Mac while rotating any element would rotate it from the top left corner.
Hold alt (Windows) or option (Mac)+shift & rotate any element
Holding alt on Windows or option on Mac along with shift and rotating any element would rotate the element relative to the top left corner by increments of 45º.
Hold shift & resize any shape or media element from a 90º corner
Holding shift while resizing any element such as text box or a photo from any corner would essentially allow you to change the size of the element without holding the aspect ratio.
