Types of Modes
1. Portrait (4:5) Mode
Templates: Works in all social apps without resizing (Instagram, Twitter, FB)
Orientation: Vertical
Best Use: "One post to rule them all"
If you prefer to create just one design and share it across all three social channels, we recommend using Portrait mode since the horizontal orientation works well in all formats
2. Story Mode
Templates: Tall and narrow to fit full-screen on a phone
Orientation: Vertical
Best Use: Instagram Story, Facebook Story, Snapchat, TikTok
3. Twitter Mode
Templates: Rectangular to fit perfectly in-feed on Twitter
Orientation: Horizontal
Best Use: Twitter/All
4. Instagram Mode
Template: Shaped just right for scrolling on the 'gram
Orientation: Square
Best Use: Instagram
5. Print Mode
Templates: Poster size! Share these in classrooms, gyms, locker rooms, or hallways
Orientation: 8.5 x 11 in.
Best Use: Print
6. Livestream Mode
Template: Works in all social apps without resizing (Instagram, Twitter, FB)
Orientation: Templates will download with a full 1920x1080 transparent canvas surrounding the template asset itself.
Best use: All social media platforms (these livestream templates must be downloaded in PNG format, and are not compatible with the publish feature)
Video & Motion in Modes
Some templates offer video and motion features. These will not affect your design's format or size. (Read more about How to Create Motion/Video Posts)
Video
When uploading a video, make sure it's in an MP4 file! Additionally, the maximum video playtime is 8 seconds; anything longer will be trimmed.
Preview your video by clicking the Play button, shown below.
Click Download > Download mp4 (background video) or Publish mp4 (background video) when you're ready to share!
Motion
"Motion" indicates a short animation that is automatically played after the design is downloaded or published. Stick to PNG or JPG files here- GIFs are not accepted.
Preview your animation by clicking the Play button, shown below.
Click Download > Download mp4 (as animation video) or Publish mp4 (as animation video) when you're ready to share!
Switching Modes
Some templates allow you to switch between modes from within the editing section by clicking File. Please note that not all templates have this option.
Any edits made prior to switching modes will not be saved.
It's best to decide on a mode before making any changes.
Gipper tips & tricks
-
Use the 'Save as Duplicate' button to save templates of any mode to Your Designs for future editing!
-
Give video templates a few extra seconds to load or publish. These files are a little heavier than the standard and may require more time than others
-
Need to print something larger than 8.5 x 11? Download your design to a flash drive and take it to your local office store!
